ResponsibilitiesThe Clinical Informatics Nurse manages the development, implementation, training, evaluation and maintenance enhancements of Clinical Information Systems projects within the Hospital, specifically related to automated management of information. Provides user support by facilitating communication between Information Technology staff (DIGNITY HEALTH IT), the DIGNITY HEALTH Clinical Information Systems team and the clinical users at Sequoia Hospital. Supports analysis of application use, system performance, hardware reliability and software stability in collaboration with resources from DIGNITY HEALTH IT, the DIGNITY HEALTH Clinical Information Systems team and clinical users at Sequoia Hospital. Develops, supports and activates disaster recovery strategies in times of need. Participates in application development decisions. Secures and reports user input in design development. Coordinates application validation and testing prior to implementation. Captures, defines, and prioritizes pre and post implementation issues. Reports and participates in the problem solving of issues both locally and at enterprise level. Coordinates the collection and reporting of metrics defining benefits realization and return on investment associated with Clinical Information Systems.
QualificationsMinimum:
Excellent computer skills with ability to create graphic design and develop written content in a clear, concise and accurate manner (excellent English grammar skills).
A Bachelor’s Degree and formal education as a Registered Nurse is required.
Preferred:
Experience in a nursing leadership level position at a health care institution of similar size and complexity is highly recommended.
Experience in data base design, implementation and medical vocabulary (SNOMED, LOINC, ICD-9) optional.
